When designing the wiring harness in the wet area, in addition to considering the waterproof requirements when selecting parts, it is also necessary to consider the influence of its direction design on the waterproof performance when the wiring harness is three-dimensionally arranged.
● From the arrangement of wiring harness components. In addition to the selection of connectors, the orientation of the connectors in the wet area is also very important, which requires the electrical appliances in the wet area to consider the connector orientation of the wiring harness when arranging their electrical plugs. The connector tail of the wiring harness must be arranged in a downward or horizontal direction to avoid water accumulation at the rear of the connector, which will then enter the connector and electrical appliances, affecting its electrical performance and even the safety performance of the entire vehicle. When heat-shrinkable tubes are used in places such as ultrasonic contacts and ground terminals in wet areas, the wiring harness layout also has certain requirements. It is recommended to use a vertical arrangement to prevent water accumulation in the heat-shrinkable tube and affect its electrical performance.
● Viewed from the direction of the wiring harness. When the wire harness passes through the sheet metal between the dry and wet areas, in addition to the selection of rubber parts, the layout and direction of the wire harness are also very important. First, according to the principle of water going low, the wiring harness in the dry area needs to be higher than the wiring harness in the wet area to prevent the water in the wet area from entering the dry area.
