LIN (Local Interconnect Network) bus is a low-cost, low-speed master-slave serial communication bus. In the occasions that do not need the bandwidth and multi-function of the CAN bus, such as electric windows and doors, seat adjustment, electric sunroof, electric wiper, some sensor signal acquisition, etc., using the lower cost LIN bus is a supplement to the CAN bus communication.
FlexRay originated from “X-By-Wire”, a high-performance, high-reliability real-time bus based on a “time-triggered” protocol. FlexRay messages can transmit up to 254Bytes of data, and can be sent to the target address within a precise time (up to 1us). The FlexRay bus transmission rate can reach 10M, and is mainly used in systems such as steering-by-wire and brake-by-wire that require high safety and real-time performance.
