The maximum input voltage of the circuit that uses the BUCK chip to achieve negative voltage output cannot reach the nominal value of the chip, but is determined by the output voltage. Taking AOZ1284PI as an example, ignoring the diode voltage drop, assuming the output is -12V, the maximum input voltage can only be 24V, which is no longer the nominal 36V of the chip.
It can be seen from the above formula reasoning that although the BUCK chip is used, it has essentially been converted into a Buck-Boost circuit due to the different connection methods. Therefore, the negative voltage output circuit cannot be designed with the idea of designing the BUCK circuit.
