The application of power steering system is becoming more and more extensive, not only must be equipped on heavy-duty vehicles, but it is also widely used in high-end cars, and the application in medium-sized vehicles is also gradually promoted. The main purpose is to reduce the driver’s fatigue and improve the maneuverability and stability; the second is to reduce the accident caused by the sudden tire blowout of the front wheel during high-speed driving. Although it brings problems such as high cost and complex structure, it has been developed rapidly due to its obvious advantages.
There are 3 forms of power steering: integral, semi-split and combined valve power steering structure. The three types have their own characteristics and develop rapidly. The integral type is mostly used for vehicles with a front axle load of 3-8t, the valve type is mostly used for front axle loads of 5#0; 18t vehicles, and the semi-split type is mostly used for front axle loads above 6t to super heavy car.
From the perspective of development trend, the foreign integrated steering gear develops rapidly, and the integral steering gear transfer valve structure is the direction of development.
