    Let’s learn about the von Neumann architecture
    The Von Neumann architecture is a classic computing architecture. From this architecture, we can get three main components of computing: computing unit, storage unit, and input and output unit.
    The first stage: CPU single computing platform
    As shown in the figure above, green represents the computing unit + storage unit, and the computing unit here is the CPU. In order to simplify the system analysis, we omit the storage unit, and the default is to follow the calculation unit.
    The second stage: from integration to division, heterogeneous computing platform of CPU + other computing chips
    The CPU-based Moore’s Law is invalid, and the performance of the CPU is very slow, only less than 3% per year. It takes more than 20 years to double the performance. However, the demand for performance is still rising. Therefore, the heterogeneous computing of CPU+xPU is gradually moving towards the center of the stage.
    All xPUs, including accelerators such as GPU and AI-DSA, cannot exist alone. Host CPUs are required to form a heterogeneous computing method of CPU+xPU to achieve complete computing.
