On the basis of the platform model, the platform design concept of the whole vehicle wiring harness is proposed. In the pre-research stage of the project, it is involved in the development of the definition and development of the electrical interface to improve the generality of the definition of the electrical interface; from the aspects of power distribution principle, grounding principle, wire and line connection, etc. Carding measures to improve versatility, and then realize the platformization of wire harness raw materials. On this basis, through the curing of the fixing method and direction of the wire harness, the cross-model use of the wire harness assembly is realized. The platform design concept is applied to the whole vehicle wiring harness of a certain platform SUV model, reducing the variety of raw materials by 21.4%, and increasing the general rate to 81.8%. As a result, the development cycle was shortened by 14 working days, the first-round loading problem was reduced by about 24%, and the cost of a single vehicle wiring harness was reduced by about 46 yuan, achieving the expected effect of platform-based design.
