HSD intelligent high-side switch integration solution, a single chip integrates driver + MOSFET + current detection + thermal protection + voltage protection + EMC + various diagnostics. This solution has been popularized 10 years ago, and is still limited to small current load applications (<25A), with low cost and high reliability. Tesla’s FBCM uses a large number of low RDS_ON (ie low on-resistance, high current) MOSFETs for power distribution, the total number is more than 50, and the small current uses Infineon’s HSD chip, which is used as secondary power distribution. Only about 20 MOSFETs are used in the LBCM. Option 1 is used for high current, and Option 2 is used for small current.
