Thermal protection of wiring harness
Temperature has a great influence on the wire harness, which not only reflects the heat resistance of the wire harness material itself, but also changes in electrical properties caused by temperature changes. In the wiring harness layout design, special attention should be paid to the wiring harness layout in the high temperature area. On the car, the high temperature areas mainly include the following areas:
● Exhaust pipe
● Exhaust manifold
● Exhaust gas recirculation pipe or valve

● Catalytic Converter
● Turbocharger

In terms of temperature, the wiring harness layout has the following requirements:
● The minimum distance between the wiring harness and the device in the high temperature area above is not less than 150mm, the catalyst needs to be more than 300mm, and a high temperature resistant wrapping material is required.
● Many factors will affect the feasible space for wiring harness layout near the heat source (air flow, heat transfer method, degree of heat, etc.), so it is necessary to obtain accurate temperature field data to decide how to arrange the wiring harness and what kind of protection to choose. For high-temperature areas, after the prototype is out, it is necessary to conduct temperature field analysis in order to determine the rationality of the wiring harness layout and wiring harness wrapping design.
