Waterproof and dustproof protection is often considered in the wiring harness layout process. For this point, the wiring harness layout mainly includes the following aspects:
● The wiring harness passes through the sheet metal, and a drip point (above 75mm) needs to be set to prevent external water or other liquids from flowing into the body through the wiring harness, or under the influence of the siphon effect, the water may flow into the cab connector along the wiring harness .
● In areas where water may splash in wet areas, such as the engine compartment, in order to prevent water from entering the plug-in, the connector should be placed horizontally and fixed in the design (the direction of the plug-in outlet is parallel to the body bottom plate).
● It is forbidden to place connectors and grounding terminals in places where there is accumulated water in wet areas, or where water is flowing in the sink.
● Wet area snap ties should be in the form of gaskets.
● The distance between the fixed point of the wire harness in the waterproof membrane on the door sheet metal should be greater than 30mm from the glued boundary of the waterproof membrane to prevent water leakage after the waterproof membrane is lifted up. The wiring harness is flowing backwards into the vehicle.
● Corresponding protection needs to be added to the wiring harness at the wheel and under the floor. Avoid driving on off-road, gravel roads or winter snow and ice roads, splashing hard stones, ice and snow blocks will smash the wiring harness.
● The fixed position of the front and rear wiring harnesses to the plug-in should be arranged at a high point in the direction of the wiring harness, avoid being arranged at the lowest point, and do a good job of waterproof and dustproof protection of the wiring harness, but it is necessary to check whether it is easy to assemble.
