Numerous methods are used in the design of logic circuits to make sure that such faults do not exist in the actual device. When the device is mounted on the board, other aspects of the board-level system may still contribute to the occurrence of identical mistakes. The power supply terminal Vcc and the ground terminal GND are shared by the two cascaded NOT gates. The power supply pin of a NOT gate will have parasitic inductance between Vcc, while the ground pin of the NOT gate will have parasitic inductance between GND. Parasitic inductance is an inevitable component of actual board-level circuit design, and extra parasitic inductance will be added in the power plane, ground plane, vias, pads, and lead wires connecting the pads.
