The main advantages of lithium-ion batteries:
● Li-ion battery has high voltage and high energy density;
● Long cycle life, generally can be cycled 500 times, even more than 1000 times;
● Small self-discharge, the self-discharge rate of a fully charged Li-ion at room temperature after storage for 1 month is about 10%;
● It can be charged quickly, and the capacity can reach 80% of the nominal capacity when charged at 1C;
● The operating temperature range is wide, generally -25~45°C, and it is expected to break through -40-70°C in the future;
● There is no memory effect like Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh, so it is not necessary to use up the remaining power before charging;
● Compared with Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh, it is environmentally friendly and pollution-free (does not contain heavy metals such as cadmium and mercury);
The main disadvantages of lithium-ion batteries:
● High cost;
● Need to add protective circuit board, including overcharge and overdischarge protection;
● Do not discharge with a large current, generally the discharge current is below 0.5C, excessive current will cause internal heating of the battery;
● Poor safety, easy to explode and catch fire.
