Solid and Flexible Busbars
Another key distinction that must be considered is solid busbar vs. flexible busbar. For automotive applications within EV batteries, solid busbars are used. Flexible buses are used in short sections when specific areas need to be moved for assembly or application. It acts as an electrical “jumper wire”.
Flexible busbars have several thin layers of copper or aluminum and are designed to efficiently distribute power in AC or DC systems.
