The working characteristics of the capacitor in the absorption circuit are that the duty cycle of the high peak current is small, and the RMS current is not very high. Similar to this circuit is the commutation capacitor of the thyristor inverter, although the dv/dt required by this capacitor is relatively high. The absorption capacitor is small, but the peak current and RMS current are both large, and the use of ordinary capacitors cannot meet the requirements in terms of current.
