The concept of harness platform can be divided into three levels: ● Generalization of raw materials. The main direction is to improve the universal rate and reuse rate of raw materials. Raw materials such as wires, terminals, connectors, cable ties, and rubber sleeves are an important part of the cost of wiring harnesses. A low reuse rate will increase the cost and pressure of wiring harness suppliers for procurement and storage. By improving the commonality of raw materials within and between models, it can effectively reduce the investment of wire harness suppliers and shorten the delivery cycle of wire harnesses. ● Modularization of semi-finished wire harnesses. The raw materials, principles and layouts of wiring harnesses configured by different models are basically the same. Only simple modification of the different configuration items of the wiring harness semi-finished products can be carried out to realize the reuse of semi-finished products across configurations and models, and reduce the risk of backlog. ● The finished wire harness assembly is platformized. Through configuration reservation and other forms, the complete commonality of wiring harness assemblies between different models and different configurations is realized. The platformization of the assembly needs to take into account the cost issue at the same time, so as to achieve a balance between the platformization and the cost of the wiring harness.
