A common failure of interlock switches is that the switch does not close after closing the cover. During the trial production of the prototype, two types of problems occurred. Design dimension deviation, resulting in interlock switch can not be closed. The height of the rib structure protruding from the cover plate is too low, so that the switch cannot be closed in place, and the interlock circuit is open.
The unreasonable design leads to the failure of the interlock switch structure during the installation process and the switch cannot be closed. The reason for this example is that the interlock switch is oriented in the opposite direction that some assembly technicians move the cover, and in order to install it in place, the assembler pushes the cover hard and bends the interlock shrapnel. This also indirectly shows that the design of the interlock switch needs to comprehensively consider several possibilities of installation, adjust the orientation of the switch, etc. to avoid structural failure.
In addition, there are also cases where the switch itself fails and the switch cannot be closed.
