Power Amplifier Design Challenges
In the past, power amplifiers and their surrounding circuits were designed with on-board discrete components. While this approach has been used in the industry for many years, its effectiveness has been questioned due to some very large design challenges. One of the challenges is how to make a trade-off between area, cost, performance and power consumption. In general, these specifications tend to be conflicting, and designers must know how to optimize their circuits so that these trade-offs are as good as possible for a particular application.
