The wiring harness of large-section wires is concentrated in the power wiring harness, the front cabin wiring harness and the engine wiring harness, mostly in harsh environments such as high temperature, humidity, oil pollution, chemical salt and alkali corrosion. In order to prevent oxidation and corrosion of the crimped terminals and bonding contacts, corresponding protective measures should be taken in the early stage of wiring harness product design to protect the terminals and bonding contacts.
Under normal circumstances, the terminal tails at both ends of the large-section wire should be designed with heat shrinkable tubes, PVC tape wrapping, tinning, injection molding and other process operations. The contact of the U-shaped terminal with the middle opening should be designed with a double-wall heat shrinkable tube for protection; or according to the technical requirements of product design, other special processing technology should be used for protection. The sum of the cross-sectional area of some contact wires punched in the middle opening is too large. When the crimping range of the U-shaped terminal is exceeded, the soldering operation of the joint is also required. During the process design process, the soldering operation of the joint should be avoided.
