Automobile mufflers can be divided into three types: resistive mufflers, resistive mufflers and impedance composite mufflers according to the muffler principle and structure.
● Resistive muffler Resistive muffler is when various muffler units such as expansion chambers and resonance chambers are formed inside through pipes, baffles and other components, the sound waves reflect and interfere during propagation, reducing the sound energy to achieve the purpose of muffling. Resistive mufflers have a limited muffler frequency band, usually good for low and medium frequency bands, but poor for high-frequency mufflers. Most trucks use resistive mufflers.
● Resistive muffler E is a muffler that fills the sound-absorbing material around the pipe through which the internal exhaust gas passes to absorb sound energy for the purpose of muffler. It has good noise reduction effect on medium and high frequency, and it is rarely used as a car exhaust muffler, and it is usually used in combination with a resistance muffler. –
● Impedance composite muffler is a muffler composed of resistive muffler unit and sound-absorbing material respectively. It has the common characteristics of resistive and resistive mufflers. It has a good noise reduction effect on low, medium and high frequency noise.
