Drain breakdown voltage Vds
It is necessary to select a MOS tube with Vds higher than the maximum input voltage Vmax and the maximum input transient voltage. For the MOS tube used in the communication system, generally choose Vds≥100V
Gate-source voltage Vgs
Zener transistor D1 is used to protect the gate of MOS transistor Q1 to prevent its overvoltage breakdown. Obviously, the gate-source voltage Vgs of MOS transistor Q1 must be higher than the maximum reverse breakdown voltage of Zener transistor D1. Generally, the gate-source voltage Vgs of the MOS tube is 20V, and a zener diode of 12V is recommended.
