Power and Ground Wires Power and ground wires are well positioned to reduce the potential for electromagnetic interference (EMl). If power and ground wires are not properly matched, system loops can be designed and noise is likely to be generated. An example of a PCB design with improper power and ground mating is shown in the figure. On this circuit board, different routes are used to route the power and ground wires. Due to this inappropriate fit, the electronic components and circuits of the circuit board are more likely to be affected by electromagnetic interference (EMI).
