RSW is placed on the left (inside) of the bootstrap capacitor CB. RSW only reduces the turn-off speed of the upper tube without affecting its turn-on speed, as shown in Figure 7. If RSW is placed to the right (outside) of CB as in series with the G gate, it will reduce both the turn-off speed and turn-on speed of the upper transistor. However, the resistor connected in series with the gate of G cannot reduce the current of the internal ESD diode.
A series resistance between the ground terminal of the PWM or the driver IC and the ground terminal of the input capacitor can also reduce the negative voltage current. In practical applications, this method is not recommended.
