Shield
High-voltage electrical components are more complex than traditional wiring, especially considering the shielding of electromagnetic interference. Higher power produces stronger electromagnetic noise, so the wires must be wrapped to shield from electromagnetic interference.
There are currently four basic shielding schemes, each with its own advantages and disadvantages, depending on the specific application:
Single core shielding is currently the most widely used shielding method for auxiliary connectors and power conversion. Each wire is wrapped in a metal braid to achieve the purpose of shielding while maintaining the flexibility of the wire. Single-conductor shielded conductors are easier to route and bend for easier assembly by the harness manufacturer.
