In order to provide maximum charging power to the battery, it is critical to provide accurate temperature-sensing feedback to the system. The challenge is that while temperature sensors can be embedded in charging sockets, they cannot come into direct contact with the heat source due to electrical insulation safety requirements. This separation results in a delay in sensing time and a temperature difference between the heat source and the sensor.
If the data is not accurate enough, the charging system cannot reach its full potential. The charging system software must control the charging rate conservatively to account for time delays and temperature errors.
