Sheath fracture
The sheath is a part of the connector, and its components are mostly polymer engineering plastics. Commonly used materials are nylon, polypropylene, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), etc. The main function of the sheath is to undertake the fixed support and insulation protection of the terminal. Therefore, the sheath itself should not only have sufficient strength to meet support and protection, but also have sufficient toughness to meet the needs of connector installation and disassembly. The molecular chains of polymer materials are generally more sensitive to the influence of the external environment. For example, in a humid and hot environment, the strength of nylon material will be significantly reduced, and the toughness will be greatly enhanced, which is prone to the problem of unqualified terminal retention in the sheath; and in a dry and cold environment, the strength will be significantly increased, but the toughness will be reduced. Significantly decreased, and fracture problems are prone to occur at this time.
