Capacitors used in gasoline engine ignition systems are usually paper. Its pole pieces are two long and narrow metal foils. The same two long and thin insulating papers are alternately overlapped with the pole pieces, rolled into a cylindrical shape, impregnated with a wax insulating medium, and put into a cylindrical metal casing for sealing. One of the pole pieces is in internal contact with the metal shell; the other pole piece is connected with the wire leading out of the shell.
The installation of the capacitors can be seen. The lead wire of the capacitor is connected to the terminal of the circuit breaker, and the shell of the capacitor is fixed on the shell of the distributor and grounded.
