Distributor cover inspection
The distributor cover and distributor housing are closely and reliably matched, and significant radial movement and rotation are not allowed. The spring hook should fasten the distributor cover and not loosen when it is shaken. The surface of the distributor cover should be kept clean, and any dust and dirt should be removed. Check the side electrodes and center electrodes of the distributor cover for obvious ablation, defects, and cracks in the cover. If defective, it should be replaced.
Insulation performance inspection of distributor cover
In the state where the distributor is loaded, open the distributor cover and hang it in the air, unplug all the high-voltage wires on the spark plug, hold all the high-voltage wires with one hand, the ends of which are 3~4mm away from the cylinder block, and use a screwdriver to move the movable contactor with the other hand. Click the arm to make the contacts open and close. If there is a spark jumping between the end of a high-voltage wire and the cylinder block, it means that there is leakage between the high-voltage wire jack and the central high-voltage wire jack. Similarly, this method can also be used to check whether the high-voltage line jacks of each cylinder are leaking. If the distributor cover leaks, it should be replaced with a new distributor cover.
