The third transformer is an isolator that connects the PWM control circuit to the switch. Not all power supplies will be equipped with this transformer, because some power supplies tend to be equipped with optocoupler integrated circuits with the same function.
The PWM control circuit is based on an integrated circuit. Under normal circumstances, the power supply without active PFC will use TL494 integrated circuit. In the power supply with active PFC circuit, a chip used to replace the PWM chip and PFC control circuit is sometimes used. CM6800 chip is a good example, it can well integrate all functions of PWM chip and PFC control circuit.
