The data transmission of sensors is inseparable from the support of data cables. Sensors including cameras, lidars, and millimeter-wave radars all require the support of different types of data cables. Under the trend of intelligent automobiles, the number of sensors in a single vehicle increases rapidly, and the amount of data wiring harnesses will also increase significantly. According to Aptiv’s estimation, unoptimized L3 and L4 autopilot systems need to add 2km of vehicle wiring harnesses.
The increase of smart car sensors and the expansion of functions such as night vision assistance and fatigue detection drive ADAS systems to be equipped with higher-bandwidth transmission networks, and high-speed wiring harnesses emerge as the times require. LiDAR (LiDAR) modules and cameras in automobiles can generate data traffic of 70Mbps and 40Mbps respectively. L2-class vehicles require 100M and Gigabit data transmission, and L3-class data levels are even increased to 10Gbps, which is expected to drive the demand for high-speed wiring harnesses.
