This parasitic inductance is larger than the parasitic inductance of many small package capacitors themselves, and its influence must be considered. Let’s take a 0.01uF capacitor in a 0805 package as an example to calculate the change in resonant frequency before and after installation. The parameters are as follows: Capacitance: C=0.01uF. Equivalent series inductance of the capacitor itself: ESL=0.6 nH. The added parasitic inductance after installation: Lmount=1.5nH.
