When using discrete components, it becomes increasingly difficult to strike a balance between these factors, as part selection, component interoperability, and layout all affect performance. The situation is even more complicated when it comes to 5G, where the system also needs to cover wider bandwidths and higher frequency ranges. Today’s systems require up to 400 Mhz of average instantaneous bandwidth while operating up to 4 GHz. The challenge now is to deliver performance across this frequency band while achieving the system trade-offs described above.
