Failure analysis four: poor contact
Poor wiring harness assembly connectors are a common failure mode of engine wiring harnesses. The reasons for this failure mode can be simply divided into the following three types:
● There are quality problems in the manufacturing of the sheath;
● The coating setting is unreasonable, and the terminal is oxidized too fast;
● Human factors deform the connector terminals during the assembly process.
Fault phenomenon: A Wuling Hongguang right-hand rudder prototype produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. is equipped with a Euro IV 1.3 diesel engine and has a mileage of more than 26,000 km. During the test, it was found that the engine could not be started. After the tester reconnected the rail pressure regulating valve sensor connector, the engine could start normally, but after the engine worked normally, the fault reappeared.
